The Late-Night And Outdoor Seating Of Los Pilones

Los Pilones appears to be the most popular Tex-Mex restaurant in Amsterdam. The moment I asked for direction to a restaurant where I can enjoy Tex-Mex dishes and pastries all hands pointed towards that direction. By the end of the day, I was not disappointed. In fact, I loved the late-night and outdoor seating.

How It All Started?

Impressed by a number of thins—the friendly nature of the staff, the variety of Mexican cuisines, and the exquisite locations—I decided to dig deeper to know more about the restaurant. I found out that Los Pilones was an initiative of three Mexican brothers who settled in Amsterdam and decided to give the city a taste of authentic Mexican dishes. Founded in 2001, the restaurant has expanded to four different locations.

I little digging, and I discovered that is Pilóna Mexican word for “a little extra. Now, I see a restaurant living up to their name. The focus in Los Pilones is not only on the food which cuts across lunch and dinner but also the general experience of the visitors. The restaurants want to make you feel like you are in Mexico—and that is really a great idea.

What You Can Get From Los Pilones?

Specially for you

Like I mentioned earlier, the restaurant is only open for business from noon. That means no breakfast menu including my favorite breakfast tacos. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and my personal favorite on their menu includes enchiladas, tacos, fresh margaritas, huevos rancheros, quesadillas, and micheladas.

If you want to enjoy the extensive menu of Los Pilones, I will suggest you head to the Jordaan and Leidseplein locations. You will also find lots of variations to the popular Mexican dishes here as well as enjoy the colorful and vibrant atmosphere.
